Matthew Savinovich Wiki – Matthew Savinovich Biography
Matthew Savinovich of Norwood, NJ, was arrested Wednesday in connection with an indictment that charged him with killing animals at Peekskill Lake, about an hour north of town, during his relationship with his old love from December 2019 to November 2020. the Putnam County SPCA said.
A New Jersey man was arrested for killing his ex-girlfriend’s pet ferret and three Chihuahuas in upstate New York, authorities said. He was charged with one count of burglary, four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals as a felony, four counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty, and four counts of felony criminal mischief, according to the SPCA.
He was also charged with failing to appear in Putnam Valley court on other charges. He was indicted in Putnam County Court and ordered to be held in the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $ 100,000 in cash or $ 500,000 in bond. Savinovich, who has an extensive criminal history, could spend at least five years behind bars, the SPCA said.
Several agencies were involved in the “lengthy investigation,” SPCA chief Ken Ross said in a statement. “The cooperation and help we received from all of these agencies was an invaluable resource,” he said. “Studies have shown that those who commit animal cruelty eventually commit crimes against humans.”
