The American tennis player, Bjorn Fratangelo, was born in 1993 to Mario Fratangelo and Pamela Fratangelo. Not much information is discovered about his parents, but it is known that his father, Mario, is his mentor. Bjorn took home the young men’s singles championship at the 2011 French Open. He is only the next American of three to win the event, following John McEnroe in 1977 and Tommy Paul in 2015.
Bjorn was a singles semifinalist at the 2017 Hall of Fame Tennis Championships. He started playing tennis at the age of three and is named after tennis champion Björn Borg. Bjorn went to St. John the Baptist School in Plum, Pennsylvania through the eighth grade when he moved to Naples, Florida for preparation reasons, and was a web-based substitute for Barron Collier High School.
Showing up to readiness adjustments in Sarasota in April 2016 and winning the Savannah Challenger the following week, Bjorn won the 2016 French Open Wild Card Challenge. He took advantage of his unique case by defeating his friend Sam Querrey in the first round of the French Open, which allowed him to enter the top 100 in a strange way.
