Marcus Rashford has told the Old Trafford swarm that they will be staples for Manchester United’s looks to beat Liverpool. He joined Jurgen Klopp’s side in welcoming Manchester on Monday night as they hope to exorcise the ghosts of last season’s 9-0 total disgrace on their nasty rivals last season.

“From what I can check, when we beat Liverpool, the fans helped us a lot,” the 24-year-old said. “Overall, it’s a troublesome game really and mentally, so we’re going to need them.

The United striker also urged his team to show their worth against Liverpool as he said the device has an added advantage.
He added: “To be honest, I feel exactly the same way. [as in the past heading into this fixture].
“Against anybody, you want to win anyway against your Liverpools and Manchester Citys, you really want to show why you play for Manchester United. Winning Liverpool is a trend comparable to when I was young.
“Do the goals against Liverpool mean more? Without a doubt, he would probably say exactly that. After the game, you understand that a goal is a goal and you have to score them against any group.
“However, the initial feeling is huge and it’s something you yearn for as a player and I don’t feel like that leaves you at any point.”
