The women’s 400m hurdle warm-up began Tuesday on Day 5 of the World Athletics Championships here at Hayward Field in Oregon. Lina Nielsen from the UK is also competing in this segment and they should finish in the top four racers tonight.
Lina Nielsen suffered a leg injury when she was scheduled to race in 2017 in the 400m and 4x400m hands-off with indistinguishable twins Laviai. It was removed as a tentative step in the wake of experiencing a “stress response” — the stage preceding a pressure break — on a fibula.
While it wasn’t the most pessimistic scenario circumstance, it was a tricky recommendation to assess the extent of damage and mentally the chance to recover rather than participate in it.
“I’d never had a real physical problem, never torn a muscle or anything, and it seemed to be an injury in the underlying stages,” Nielsen told the Voice of Sport.
“It actually felt like an extreme tremor running all the way through my leg around the injured site at the European Indoor Championship air terminal,” she continued.
“It looked like someone had folded a pointed band over my leg. It was painfully awkward every time I tried to put my leg down while walking.”
She started practicing yoga to help her physical and deep recovery. She had no idea that she would develop such passionate feelings that she would prepare to become a yoga teacher.

In 2016, she came out on top for the BUCS indoor title and the England U-23 title, breaking 53 seconds and scoring an individual best of 52.97.
Nielsen, who is being groomed by Frank Adams, made strong points for the 2017 indoor season, finishing third in the 400m at the British Indoor Championships in February. It qualified her for the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade.
By getting her psyche round and not having the opportunity to compete there, Nielsen has shown something new that has enabled the chemistry student to dislike something before.

She was really discouraged about that and needed everything to distract her brain, she said.
“I would rather not have told individuals that I was a competitor, because I would have to understand why I did not meet all the requirements for the World Championships. I really wanted an escape from the competition as a competitor.”

“During the preparation and races, my outlook has changed very much.
“This year I expect to go to each of the three occasions” [Worlds, Commonwealths, and Europeans]. I need to gain as much experience as can reasonably be expected to motivate Paris.
“That’s the goal: to compete in the Olympics and dominate an Olympic prize.”
Her structure is then fast and improves quickly. She cut more than a second off her individual record 400m hurdles in 2021, before recently losing another half a second in Rome with a 54.73 second race.
It took her to 10th on the UK’s all-time list this year and twelfth on the planet.
