Charged and Arrested

Kyle Douglas Hadala, of Sarasota, Fla., has been charged with simple assault, the Aberdeen Police Department announced on Monday. The assault didn’t cause serious bodily harm, so the charge was “simple” under South Dakota law, according to Brown County State’s Attorney Ernest Thompson.

Hadala has since been released on bond, per Thompson. His initial court date is set for July 10.

Hadala was in South Dakota for work, according to ESPN’s Tim McManus.

According to Florida court records, Hadala pleaded guilty in 2009 to reckless driving involving alcohol. He was fined $786 and sentenced to 40 hours of community service.

Around 1 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to the 1000 block of South Main Street in reference to an assault, according to a statement published to the department’s Facebook page. When police arrived, Goedert, identified as “an adult male,” had been punched in the face. He was taken to Avera St. Lukes Hospital, where he was treated and released, the statement said.

A Florida man was arrested for allegedly attacking Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert in a South Dakota restaurant on Friday night.

“It was discovered that an adult male had been punched in the face. The male was transported to Avera St. Luke’s Hospital (in Aberdeen) where he was treated and released,” police said in a news release.

Goedert was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, but he appeared to be fine, and he didn’t suffer any injuries from the altercation.

Goedert, a Britton, S.D., native who played college football at South Dakota State, is entering his third season with the Eagles, and in 2019 he had the best season of his career. Goedert came down with a career-high 58 receptions for 607 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

He is the No. 2 tight end in an offense that features Pro Bowler Zach Ertz, but Goedert should have a larger role in the Eagles’ offense in the upcoming season.
