Police say Matthews stopped in the middle of a street, got out of his vehicle, and began shooting at the victim. The victim’s truck and a nearby home were hit by bullets, but no one was injured. Matthews was later taken into custody by police and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal said: “We will not tolerate this type of careless and unforgivable behavior in Slidell. We immediately deployed a large number of officers to search for the suspect. In a couple of hours, we located the suspect’s vehicle and made an arrest. May this serve as another message that we will be relentless in solving and preventing violent crime in our community. ”

In a shocking highway rage incident, a pickup truck was shot on July 14 in a residential neighborhood. Police arrested and charged Kendell Matthews for the incident, which has left Slidell’s normally quiet neighborhood in shock. The shooting was reportedly due to another incident in which Matthews and his truck were involved near Highway 11.
Matthews is just one of many people arrested after violent incidents on the roads across the country. According to police, around 6:30 p.m., Matthews abruptly parked his gray sedan in the middle of the street in a quiet neighborhood in Slidell. Then he got out and started shooting at a white van that was behind him. The footage shows the truck speeding past Matthews and turning left. Matthews then goes back to his car and turns right. Police say the truck was hit multiple times, but no one was injured. Some bullets also hit one of the houses, but again it was reported that no one was injured.
The shooting was reportedly due to an incident that occurred near Highway 11 and Brownswitch Road. It is unclear what exactly happened, the police have not commented on that incident or provided any information. All they said was that it motivated Matthews to follow the truck to the Tanglewood subdivision, where the shooting took place. A short time later, police managed to track down the car and arrest Matthews.
The footage shows Matthews getting out on the passenger side of the car. It is unclear who the driver was and if he too has been arrested. “We will not tolerate this type of careless and unforgivable behavior at Slidell,” Chief Randy Fandall said, according to 4WWL. Fandall added: “May this serve as another message that we will be relentless in solving and preventing violent crime in our community.”
