Kali had just started preschool last month, and she loved it, telling her mother that she “can’t wait to go to school. The mischievous 4-year-old girl passed away just one day after her mother, brother and his 5-month-old sister knew they were infected, and the family is currently under quarantine at home.
The Galveston County Health Department confirmed that a girl died of COVID-19 died Tuesday morning, calling it “the first in someone 10 years or younger” in the county. Both Harwood County and Galveston County health officials are unsure where Kali contracted the virus.
