Mr. Nee has said that he was an innocent victim in the events that led to his removal. The Parole Board summary states that Nee most likely returned to the life of organized crime following his early release on license.
It adds: “The panel was satisfied that Mr. Nee was likely to have continued to be involved with organized crime under license and to have been the intended target of a gang shooting. “In the circumstances, the panel found that the decision to call him into custody at this time had been appropriate.”
