Joseph Fischer is 54 years old.

Charges – Arrested

Fischer was charged with obstructing law enforcement during civil disturbances, knowingly entering or remaining in any building or restricted land without legal authority, violent entry, and disorderly conduct on Capitol Grounds. He is currently being held at the Dauphin County Jail.

The 54-year-old was caught bragging on his Facebook profile, under the username SV Spindrift, about the assault on the federal building, according to authorities. In addition, he posted a video showing him leading the pack pushing police officers, authorities said in the criminal complaint.

Although the video was removed from his profile page, the police obtained a subpoena for user information linked to SV Spindrift’s Facebook account. Federal authorities were able to make an arrest based on that information.

According to the complaint, Fischer posted a comment on Facebook, which said, in part, “I was there … we pushed the police about 25 feet back. I got a ball of pepper and they sprayed OC, but it took the entrance to the capital to send a message that we, the people, have the real power. ”

The complaint says that he also posted another comment on Facebook, “It was mostly peaceful … some became destructive.”

Authorities also said Fischer contacted an unidentified Facebook user and said that he “might need a new job” because, as he put it, “it became known that I was at the rally … hahaha.” The complaint says Fischer added, “The FBI can arrest me … hahaha.”

According to the complaint, Fischer sent a message to the Facebook user and told him that he told the boss: “If that’s the price I have to pay to express my freedom and the freedoms I was born with, and therefore they took, then it must be the price … ”

“I told him I have no regrets,” Fischer said, according to the complaint.

Fischer is scheduled for a preliminary / detention hearing at the United States District Court in Harrisburg at 1:30 p.m. 23 of February.

Fischer is currently suspended without pay, WGAL reported. The report noted that North Cornwall Township issued a statement regarding Fischer’s involvement:

“North Cornwall Township was informed that this morning a member of its police force was arrested by the FBI on charges stemming from the January 6, 2021 incident that occurred in the United States Capitol building. No municipal official had knowledge of this individual’s actions prior to his arrest.

Investigation Report

“The municipality recognizes the right of all citizens to freedom of expression; however, each citizen must also be held accountable for their actions. Consequently, as required by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Trust Act, the police officer was immediately suspended without pay pending resolution of these charges.

“While every citizen charged with a crime should be held innocent until proven guilty, the municipality, its elected officials, its police officers, and its employees want to make it clear that the United States of America is a government of laws by that we have sworn to defend. Neither the municipality nor any official or employee endorses, accepts or condones any alleged participation in a crime against the United States of America or any act committed by a person who may have unlawfully violated the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 “.

At least 18 people from Pennsylvania have been charged by federal authorities in the investigation of the Capitol riots.
