In the fifth season of Cobra Kai, Johnny and Chozen turn to Daniel in their challenge to stop Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) from developing Cobra Kai beyond the San Fernando Valley and taking his dojo around the world.

In addition to having respect for each other, Lawrence and Toguchi’s memories of LaRusso as children portray Daniel-san’s gallantry that neither can deny.

Chozen’s ill will towards Daniel was far more fierce, and they fought to the death towards the end of The Karate Youngster Part II, despite the fact that Daniel-san received and guarded Chozen’s existence.
