Joey Lee Guinn: 3rd Suspect Arrested in Connection With Tennessee Man Found Buried in Chest Freezer

Tennessee investigators have arrested a third suspect in connection with the murder of a missing man who was found buried in a chest freezer earlier this month. Joey Lee Guinn, 46, was arrested for the murder of 64-year-old Edward Elliott on May 16 — the day after Elliott’s body was found in a remote part of Hampton, as CrimeOnline reported.

Then, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that Jim Chambers, 37, was arrested in Louisiana, days after they’d put him on the state’s most wanted list.

This week, the Carter County Sheriff’s Office announced that Chambers had been brought back to Tennessee and that his girlfriend, 30-year-old Amanda Quillen — arrested with him in New Orleans on May 24 — had been charged with accessory after the fact and coercion or persuasion of a witness, WJHL reported.

Elliott was reported missing by family on March 31, but investigators said they believe Chambers and Guinn killed him around February 1. The sheriff’s office said evidence and interviews ultimately led them to begin searching several properties near Guinn’s home in Hampton and finally led to finding the body.

Chambers was arraigned on Friday and given a $10 million bond. Guinn is being held on a $5 million bond; both men are charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse, jail records say. Quillen was also arraigned on Friday and given a $1 million bond.
