Jide Zeitlin (Jide J. Zeitlin) is the former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Tapestry, Inc., a New York-based house of modern luxury lifestyle brands. On July 21, 2020, Tapestry, Inc. announced that “effective immediately, Jide Zeitlin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, has resigned from the Company and its Board of Directors for personal reasons.”
Zeitlin said in a statement: “It has been a privilege to lead Tapestry with its powerful brands and outstanding people. I have incredible belief in the Company’s growth potential as each brand sharpens its focus on meeting the broad and diverse needs of their consumers.”
He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Tapestry in September 2019 to succeed Victor Luis. Zeitlin said in a statement at the time: “On behalf of the Board, we thank Victor for the passion and commitment he has shown during his time with the Company. Early in his tenure, he was a critical part of Coach’s development outside of North America, first as President and CEO of Coach Japan and then assuming responsibility for the brand’s entire international organization. Over the past five years, as CEO, Victor was instrumental in the successful transformation of Coach and the establishment of Tapestry as New York’s first house of modern luxury lifestyle brands.”

Zeitlin was elected to the Board of Directors of Tapestry in June 2006 and served as the Chairman of the Board from November 2014 to July 2020.
Zeitlin previously served as a Partner at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he held a number of senior management positions in the investment banking division, including that of Global Chief Operating Officer. He also served in the firm’s executive office. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1987, became a Partner in 1996 and retired from the firm in December 2005.
Zeitlin serves on the boards of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (where he is Chairman), Playwrights Horizons and Saint Ann’s School. He is Chairman Emeritus of Amherst College and a Fellow at the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and formerly served on the boards of Milton Academy, Teach for America, and Common Ground Community.
Zeitlin holds an A.B. degree, magna cum laude, in Economics and English from Amherst College and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard University.

His mother worked with an American family, the Zeitlins – the father was a journalist, his wife was a homemaker and they had two daughters.
