Jessica Vega Wiki, Biography

In January 2013, Jessica Vega was kidnapped by a fellow web-based MySpace and ex-con named Kirk Levin, who had been released from jail just days before the episode. Levin allegedly lured Vega out of her home in Tempest Lake, Iowa, and asked her to take him to her mother’s house before seizing her and leaving her. He shaved close after her vehicle suffered a minor mishap.

However, that was not the main misdeed that Kirk Levin committed that day. Reports say that before capturing Vega, he repeatedly wounded his mother to her death before leaving the house. Levin claimed not to remember much of it, but was eventually sentenced for first-degree murder and third-degree kidnapping.

ID’s Dead Quiet is set to return to Jessica Vega’s capture in an episode called The Delinquent and the Holy person. The abstract says:

“When a grieving young man befriends Jessica Vega through online entertainment, the caring student and single mom gives her all to guide him to a better path; Tragically, her honest goals get her into big trouble again.”
The episode will air on the channel this Friday, April 7 at 7 pm ET.

Jessica Vega was a substitute at Buena Vista College when she met Kirk Levin online on Myspace. It turned out to be old friends before the last option was thrown out of jail on a robbery charge. The two kept in touch for some time, but around the beginning of the day on January 3, 2013, a few days after his release from jail, Levin knocked on the window of Vega’s Tempest Lake apartment, calling for help.

Levin at first told her that his vehicle’s flash accessories were breaking down, however, he later changed his story and claimed to have completely run out of fuel. She made the decision to help him and get him back to Right on Time, Iowa, realizing he needed to start a temp job that morning. The two proceeded to an outbuilding, and after arriving, Levin said, “I’m kidnapping you.” She accepted it as a joke until she showed up with a rope.

The ruffian then, at that point, snatched Vega’s vehicle keys and took her home, where he strapped her into the commuter seat and drove down Parkway 20, toward Tempest Lake, his loft. Shortly after, her vehicle crashed into the ditch and a bystander, Gary Schramm, a nearby rancher, stopped to help. Vega then, at that moment, persuaded her kidnapper to untie her before running off to Schramm’s truck, who helped her escape from it.

Specialists later found the ferociously wounded body of his mother, Marilyn Schmitt, in her home after Levin’s capture. She allegedly wounded her numerous times before taking off to capture Vega from her condo.

Kirk Levin was charged with first-degree murder, third-degree kidnapping, assault with the intent to commit sexual assault, and assault while participating in a crime. During a meeting, he claimed to have killed his mother, but said he “can’t understand why or what he was thinking”. He was sentenced for first degree murder and third degree capture in connection with both cases.

Watch the case on ID’s Dead Quiet episode airing this Friday at 7pm ET.
