Jeremy Clements is an American stock car driving expert. He is the son of Tony Clements, owner of Clements Hustling Motors. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 51 Chevrolet Camaro for Jeremy Clements Hustling. In 2022, Clements scored the next race hit from him in the Daytona night race in overtime, earning him a finalist appearance for the season.
Jeremy W. Clements was born on January 16, 1985 (age 38 years old) in Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA. He is the son of Tony Clements and his better half. Clements, a resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina, began his dealer career at age 8 driving go-karts. In 1999, he continued to race four-camera vehicles in the Changed and Stock series at Thunder Valley Speedway and Cherokee Speedway. Over the next three seasons, he won 55 element events and two track titles.
Clements moved up to the Late Model division in 2002 where he came out on top in 9 races and the title at Cherokee. He also made his ARCA Series debut at Talladega Superspeedway, starting sixth and finishing 17th in the No. 3 Chevrolet. He started five ARCA races in 2003, earning three top-10 finishes. Clements suffered actual injury on July 24, 2004, at age 19, while racing at 311 Speedway in North Carolina. While he was driving his latest model, the driveshaft broke and punctured the vehicle, injuring his right hand.

He was rushed to Wake Backwoods College Baptist Emergency Clinic in Winston-Salem, NC, where he underwent a nine-hour muscle medical procedure. The following year, Clements underwent ten medical procedures; including sewing his hand to her right hip to hold the skin together, using bony attachments from her hip, and taking ligaments from her right foot. He did not race again until the following year. On July 10, 2005, Clements was back in the driver’s seat of a race car after the mishap, testing his latest model of his at Thunder Valley. Jeremy Clements made his NASCAR Xfinity Series (then, at the time, NASCAR Busch Series) debut in 2003 at Pikes Pinnacle Worldwide Raceway. Driving the No. 71 Chevrolet for Youthful Hustling, he started 35th and finished 31st after an early crash. Clements did not return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series until 2007, when Clements endorsed McGill Motorsports to run the final five races of the season in their No. 36 Chevrolet. He just completed two races and had a best finish of 23rd at Charlotte Engine Speedway.
Clements competed in four races for his family-claimed No. 50 group in 2008. He qualified for two of them, earning passes 22 and 30. During these two years, he also spent time testing and qualifying vehicles for Joe Gibbs Dashing in races. who became entangled with Beast Energy’s NASCAR Cup Series plan. For 2009, Clements expanded his emphasis on the Xfinity Series, competing in 13 races and making 12. He ran six races in his family, claiming the No. 50 with a best finish of sixteenth. Not long before the October race at Kansas Speedway, Clements and support from Saxon Gathering joined JD Motorsports to round out the season in the No. 0 Chevrolet. In his second race with JD, he finished a career-best 12th. at the time at Auto Club Speedway.
In the offseason, it was reported that Jeremy Clements would essentially drive the opening three races of the 2010 season in the No. 0 for JD Motorsports with sponsorship from Boudreaux’s Butt Glue. After missing field at Daytona because qualifying was cut short, his arrangement until the end of the explanation was up in the air. The No. 0 group was closed and JD moved Clements to the No. 04. By 2012, Clements participated in the Xfinity Series with his group. He drove two races for JD Motorsports at Richmond and Indianapolis when Ty Dillon was running his 51. Clements had two complete top-10 finishes.
Clements was suspended indefinitely by NASCAR on February 27, 2013, after finishing 33rd in the feature race of the 2013 NASCAR Cross-country Series season. The sanctioning body stated that the suspension was due to violation of NASCAR’s set of implicit principles, as characterized in Area 7-5 of the sanctioning body’s rule book, as well as in Segment 12-1, activities that prevent the manipulation of vehicles.
Clements, in a meeting with ESPN, was later quoted as saying: “When you make a ‘racial’ comment, you’re not using the representation of any person or thing. So that’s all I’ll say. What’s more, it really wasn’t. I was describing hustle, and the word I used was wrong and I shouldn’t have said it. It should not be used in any way.” The MTV supervisor who had the discussion with Clements, Marty Beckerman, claimed that Clements said an expression that incorporated the “n-word.”
Clements passed in two runs and returned until the end of time. His season was marked by a top-10 finish at the massive tri-oval at Talladega Superspeedway and the series debut race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Vehicle Course. After some setbacks with the team in the 2014 NASCAR Cross Country Series, Clements earned a brief second-place finish in the top 5 in the Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway on May 3, 2014, before an accident sidelined him. with four laps to go. Ryan Blaney, who was in second place at the time, veered off the wall towards Clements and sent his vehicle hard into the wall.
At the Gardner Denver 200 at Street America, Clements posted a career best sixth place at the time. The year 2015 was a good season for Clements despite a best finish of tenth at Dover and a modest string of unlucky finishes. At Talladega in 2016, Clements drove alert laps and recorded his most memorable Xfinity top-five finish, a fourth.
In 2017, Jeremy Clements posted a best of 10 trip at Iowa, in which he finished seventh. A couple of races later, he would get the most memorable pro run of his at Street America after he and Matt Tifft hit it off with 2 laps to go. Clements’ success was the first for an Xfinity Series self-driver and the group has not been associated with the NASCAR Cup Series since David Gilliland’s triumph at Kentucky in 2006, a season finalist appearance.
