Artist Jennette McCurdy shared a particularly horrendous email from her mother on an episode of the “Red Casual Discussion” e-series on Wednesday. The video shows the former “iCarly” star looking through her new diary, “I’m Happy My Mother Kicked the bucket”. In the email, McCurdy’s mother, Debra, who passed away in 2013 due to chest illness, allegedly walks away from an incredibly disgusting move of put-downs toward her daughter before mentioning her money.
The email goes on to reference photos of McCurdy on TMZ, which show the artist with a man. Her mother portrays him as a “disgusting monster” before thinking of her as a young “lying” and “disgusting monster” who is “scheming” and “evil”. However, the postscript can be the most perplexing piece of the entire email.
“PS Please send cash for another cooler; our own bankruptcy,” McCurdy read. Preparing for the release of her new diary, the performer has been open about the abuse that persisted in her young life.
McCurdy has said that her mother encouraged her to become a young artist, shamed her about her weight and diet, and really abused her. McCurdy also said she was shot in a bathing suit and encouraged to drink alcohol during a tryout at a Nickelodeon warehouse when she was a high school student, showing her mother would not intercede in such episodes.
