Bridegan was paid by his four children and his husband-to-be, Kristen Bridegan. His two-year-old daughter was in the vehicle when he was killed and his other half was at home with the seven-month-old girl.

The ex-couple had a hard relationship and went through a turbulent divorce. Obviously, Jared found out that Shanna was dating her mentor, Mario Fernandez, who Shanna married after the divorce.
Gardner filed for legal separation in February 2015 after five years of marriage. After the divorce, Gardner-Fernandez requested essential custody of the twins and the restrictive occupancy of the $800,000 house in Ponte Vedra Beach south of Jacksonville.
