Born August 31, 1934, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Mary C. (Shull) and Edward J. Mackey, Jane led a fulfilling life. She was a splendid, aggressive substitute who came through Stash High School and Mount Association School, Class of 1956. She then proceeded to earn her Lords from Kent State College, preparing her for a 29-year showcase career in Akron’s government-funded schools.

Jane was energetic about training and effectively associated with different associations. She was a member of the Trust United Methodist Church in North Canton and the PEO Fellowship. Jane was also a happy person from Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and served in the Mount Association Graduate Reunion.

His devotion to the Mount Association group of people was also highlighted by his status as a 20-year season ticket holder for Mount Association Football. Despite her work and the contribution of the local area, Jane had many interests. She enjoyed reading, watching sports, and the annual family outings on Fenwick Island, Delaware.

His affection for the family was clear in the warm connections he had with their children, David A. Barrett of Winthrop, Maine, Susan Barrett of Boston, Massachusetts, and Catherine “Kate” Barrett of North Canton. She was also rewarded by her brother-in-law, Dr. Robert T. Barrett of Fair Oaks, California; sister by marriage, Carolyn Mackey of Tallmadge; eight nieces and nephews, and seventeen amazing nieces and nephews.

Tragically, Jane died, and her better half, Donald C. Barrett, left her before she died; guardians in good standing, Robert W. also, Harriet (Todd) Barrett; brother, James E. Mackey; sister, Ann L. Koch; brother-in-law, Robert C. Koch; and sister by marriage, Jeanette Cameron Barrett.

In any case, your friends, family and colleagues will have the opportunity to express their appreciation for your appearance, which will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Karlo-Libby’s funeral Service to address in Canton, Ohio.

A memorial administration will follow at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrance commitments may be made to Edward J. Too, Mary C. Mackey Grant Asset at Mount Association School.
