Baltimore police announced at a news conference Wednesday that the mother of two children found dead in a home in southwest Baltimore on Tuesday confessed to killing them. As previously reported by CrimeOnline, the boy and girl were found Tuesday afternoon, and a coroner is still working to determine the cause of death for the children.
As WJZ-TV reports, Since then, Baltimore police have identified the child victims as 6-year-old Da’neria Thomas and 8-year-old Davin Thomas.. Police said his mother, Jamerria Hall, fled the scene after the killings. Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison told the news conference that detectives had “worked very hard” to locate the mother and detained her Wednesday morning. Under police questioning, he allegedly confessed to the double murder.

“There is nothing more difficult than investigating the murder of a child, much less two children,” Harrison reportedly said.
WMAR Obtained records showing incidents related to the past. In 2018, Hall set a house on fire while Da’Neria and Davin were inside. Shortly after that, she and her children were reported missing and found at a local hospital. He reportedly deactivated the smoke alarms before setting the fire.

Hall was convicted and served a year in jail. It is unclear where the children lived during their mother’s incarceration, or if Child Protective Services was ever involved with the family.

The WMAR report suggests that the children’s father was present in their lives; Records show that the father and Hall attended a custody hearing in 2019, but it is unclear if the father was contesting an existing custody agreement. It is also not known whether Hall had full custody of his children at the time of his death.
