Jacob Mayhugh – Urgent Search Ongoing After 3 People Found Dead in Oklahoma Home

Oklahoma authorities on Sunday were searching for a man they said was a “person of interest” after three people were found dead in a home, Fox 25 reports. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) said 22-year-old Jacob Mayhugh is wanted in connection with a triple homicide on Saturday in Chickasha. He was not described as a suspect, but rather as a “person of interest,” the law enforcement agency said in a press release.

Police have not released the identities of the victims or explained their relationship, if any, to Mayhugh. KOTV in Tulsa reported the victims are two adult women and one adult man. Local police in Chickasha reportedly responded to the house around 11:30 a.m. and asked the OSBI for assistance.

The shooting location was described as near South 7th Street and West Washington Avenue in Chickasha. Investigators could be seen examining two homes, one where the bodies were found and another residence next door, according to KFOR-TV. “When they made entry inside, they found three deceased persons inside,” OSBI spokesperson Hunter McKee told KFOR-TV. “It’s extremely sad.”

He added: “This doesn’t happen here very often, so our thoughts and prayers are with the victims.” Mayhugh was reportedly seen driving a 2000 GMC Yukon SUV to his parents’ home. He has not been seen since around 4:30 p.m. Friday, according to KFOR-TV.

Amanda Shaw, who has lived in the area for two decades, said the neighborhood is a tight-knit community. “This is not a troubled neighborhood,” Shaw told KFOR-TV. “I’m devastated for the family.”

The city of Chickasha, which has about 16,000 residents, is about 40 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. To report information about Mayhugh or the case, email the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at [email protected] or call 1-800-522-8017.
