The Mirror newspaper reports that the disgraced rock star, who is being held at HMP Wakefield, was stabbed to death.A Prison Service spokesman said police were investigating an incident that took place at the prison on Saturday.They added: “We cannot comment further while police investigate.”Watkins was jailed in December 2013 for a series of child sex crimes, including the attempted rape of a baby.Although he declined to comment specifically on the attack on Watkins, Prison Officers Association vice president Dave Todd said he was concerned for staff and inmates with the increasing number of incidents they are exposed to in prisons.
