Friends and acquaintances of a 46-year-old man mourn him after he fell and died while doing a somersault during a rock concert. Ian Matthew Crystal died on Friday, August 20, after his stunt went awry at Citi Field in Queens during a Dead & Company concert, law enforcement sources said. “He tried to flip the body over, fell down and landed on the balcony below,” added the source.
Reports say Crystal died after landing on the balcony with her head hitting the ground from about 30 to 50 feet high. The tragedy occurred during the intermission of the band’s concert, which featured former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, and John Mayer, around 9 p.m. Police were soon contacted and rushed to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, but he was pronounced dead.

A spokeswoman for the New York Police Department, Detective Sophia Mason, said Crystal’s injuries were “consistent with a fall from an elevated position.” While Sean Egan, a witness, said: “We saw someone fall off this ledge.” Another witness claimed that the victim did not respond after the fall. They added: “His brother came down the stairs and found that he jumped. His brother was with him. He was crying.”
Meanwhile, people who knew Crystal remembered him as a “good guy.” Juan Torres, forty years old, said: “Nice guy, easy-going. We never had a problem with him. He was a cool guy. He was healthy.
