Diane Luckey, more popular by her stage name Q Lazzarus, has died. She was the artist behind “Farewell Horses,” which was featured prominently in Jonathan Demme’s 1991 issue of The Silence of the Lambs.
Luckey was born on December 12, 1960, in Neptune, New Jersey. Growing up, she was a member of the Mount Pisgah Youth Choir. At 18, she moved to New York to pursue a career in music and began working at Sigma Sounds Studio as a backup vocalist and composing jingles for commercials.

Her sister Sharon also preceded her in death, though her better half and children made up for her; as well as her relatives Abbie Luckey, Debbie Luckey, Jimmy Luckey, Garen Luckey and Michael Luckey.
