“I had to find out myself,” he told DailyMail.com. “I called the management company because I was worried about my reservations, and they just said, ‘You don’t have to worry, because everything is canceled.’ “They were so disrespectful, they just played like it was nothing.”
Moretti said it was up to him to inform his guests, some of whom had been preparing to travel from the West Coast, that his hotel for his wedding next month was canceled. Wedding guests would come from all over the country, from states like California, Florida, Arizona, Minnesota, and New Jersey.

She said the $88 a day her organization pays for stays is dwarfed by what the city will pay them to house immigrants, with some reports indicating that hotels can earn nearly $200 per room per night. “That’s very unfair because at the end of the day, we’re a small nonprofit and we pay $88 a day for a veteran to be there,” she added.
Moretti, a firefighter who moved to Florida several years ago for work, condemned his former state’s handling of the immigration crisis and said he barely recognizes his former home. “The way they approached it, including the homeless veterans, just amazes me,” Moretti added.
