G. Dep is an American rapper who has distributed the Child of the Ghetto (2001) and Ghetto Legend (2010) studio collections. G. Dep’s profession in the music business had started during the 1990s. He had delivered 2 vinyls (in 1995 and 1996) under the record name Tape Kingz.

His career breakthrough came in 1998 when through an associate of famous rapper Sean Combs, he had handled a deal with Bad Boy Records worth USD 350k. The following year, he was featured in two songs on rapper Black Rob’s Life Story showcase series.

Not long after the arrival of his Child of the Ghetto solo performance collection in 2001, he was dropped from Bad Boy Records. In 2007, as a diss, he had co-delivered a stand-alone collection called Bad Boy.

In a meeting during the 2000s, he discovered that he had once been charged with theft and had even spent some time on Rikers Island, home to one of the world’s largest catering establishments and mental organizations.

It was later revealed that his burglary rap sheet had also included multiple arrests for drug, burglary, and burglary offenses.

During the 2000s, he had also become addicted to PCP (Phenyl Cyclohexylpiperidine), also known as Heavenly Messenger Powder, a dissociative stimulant drug used for its mind-adjusting effects.

Consequently, he had gone through recovery. In December 2010, he admitted to wrongdoing in a virus case, the murder of a man named John Henkel in October 1993.

He had turned himself in to the neighborhood police and they had captured him. It was explained that he had tried to admit something like this twice before, however, his explanation was excused each time because he was considered drug-addled.

John had been shot in the chest with a .40-type pistol by G. Dep, who had trapped the victim during an attempted robbery.

After the episode, he ran away from the area and threw the firearm into a canal.

More than 17 years after the episode, after his admission, G. Dep had been caught for that crime.

He was later turned over in court and charged with manslaughter. During the conference in January 2011, he had argued that he was not guilty of second-degree murder.

However, he was charged with second-degree murder in April 2011, after which he was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison on May 8, 2011.

He was transferred to the Fishkill Correctional Facility, a multi-level security prison in New York, where he discovered that he had admitted to wrongdoing long afterward on the grounds that memories of the act weighed heavily on him and made him distressed.
