If I directed the zoo author biography Geisel Theodor Seuss, born in 1904 and died in 1991. Geisel expected the nickname “Dr. Seuss” as an undergraduate at Dartmouth College and a substitute alumnus at Oxford’s Lincoln College. Geisel adopted the nickname “Dr. Seuss.
He left Oxford in 1927 to work as a craftsman and illustrator for Vanity Fair, Life, and other magazines. He has also served as a political cartoonist for the New York daily PM and as an artist for advertising campaigns, notably for FLIT and Standard Oil. In 1937, he delivered his first children’s book, To Think I Saw It, on Mulberry Street.
