Wear Martin is a resigned Canadian writer, most popular as a former editorialist for the Calgary Messenger, television intellectual, and television show on CTV News Channel. Wear Martin was born on September 12, 1956 (age 65) in Rochester, New York, USA. He is the son of Mary and George Martin, head of an insurance agency. His family moved to Pickering, Ontario in the mid-1960s, where Martin attended Pickering High School before leaving the news broadcast program at Ryerson College.

Wear Martin was hired in 1978 by the Calgary Messenger newspaper, where he began a 22-year career as city corridor department head, 1988 Winter Olympics department head and municipal affairs editorial writer. In 1993, he moved to Edmonton as the newspaper’s commons editor.
