Northwest Charlotte Shooting
Two people were killed and two others were wounded in separate shootings across Charlotte this past weekend, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
“When officers arrived, they located evidence of a shooting. The investigation led officers to determine two subjects who had been shot were transported by private parties to nearby hospitals,” a Saturday press release said. “One of the subjects had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the other subject sustained serious, life-threatening injuries.”
Investigators revealed Sunday that Mack had died at the hospital.
Melgar was shot around 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of Burner Drive, just south of Central Avenue, CMPD said.
When police arrived, they said, they found two people with apparent gunshot wounds and serious injuries. Medic took them to a hospital, and “One of these subjects has since been pronounced deceased,” police said on Sunday.
Homicide Unit detectives “are not currently looking for any suspects” in that case, a release said on Sunday.

Mack was shot around 12:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of North Crigler Street and Rozzelles Ferry Road, CMPD said. The community is just south of the intersection of Brookshire Boulevard and Interstate 85.
