The prequel series will establish just enough about the well-known Targaryen family heritage, with the story set incorrectly in George RR Martin’s 2018 novel Fire and Blood and taking place nearly two centuries before the events in Game of Thrones. The legend of the series is revealed to be Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Emma Darcy, a person who bears several similarities to her distant relative Daenerys.

Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke, was the most energetic young woman brought into the world by King Aerys II Targaryen and Queen Raella during Robert Baratheon’s disobedience.
