Courtney Spraggins Wiki, Biography

Former Alabama police officer David McCoy was indicted for the murder of his 26-year-old pregnant girlfriend, Courtney Spraggins. McCoy allegedly shot Spraggins in the head and then let 911 dispatchers know that she was done with it.

David McCoy was charged with three counts of capital murder at Walk 24. The charges include killing a person inside a vehicle, a mother and her unborn child, and a person under the age of 14 (unborn child).

On January 7, 2022, the defendant, David McCoy, shot the person in question, Courtney Spraggins, in the head while she was inside a vehicle left outside the Weston Farm Condo in Huntsville, Alabama. Supposedly, the former Alabama police officer, also a former Marine, was off the clock at the time of the shooting. He also gave security to the structures.

The 29-year-old ex-police officer has been charged with the murder of his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend outside their Weston Farm apartment building. According to the victim’s family, Spraggins was seven months pregnant with McCoy’s child at the time.

According to the statement during McCoy’s pivotal hearing, Courtney Spraggins came to the condo because she needed to move in with McCoy. Be that as it may, she lived with another lady named Abigail, who was also her life partner. In her statement, Alabama Policing Specialist Brittney Hayes, David McCoy and Courtney Spraggins met on a dating app. Hayes further stated that from mid-August through January, Spraggins would travel to Huntsville from North Carolina to visit the defendants. She would try to send her cash so she could stay at an inn.

Some time later, in December, Spraggins resigned from her place of employment and reported to Huntsville to live with McCoy, but he told her that he “really wanted more time.”

However, at that point McCoy advised Spraggins to go back and he would take care of her. She then turned up in Huntsville about a month after the fact, on January 7.

When examiners showed up at the crime scene, they found a pregnant Courtney Spraggins shot in the head controlling the entire vehicle. When addressed, McCoy told responding officials, “I think I’ve seen her once,” and it appeared Spraggins was done with it all. Addressing different examiners, McCoy said that he did not know Spraggins.

Nonetheless, responding officials tracked down an image of McCoy on the visor of Spraggins’ vehicle and took him in for questioning. After five hours of cross-examination, McCoy admitted to killing Spraggins, Hayes said in his statement.

Specialists also found mail addressed to Spraggins and ultrasound images in McCoy’s surveillance vehicle. McCoy’s life partner, Abigail, was also questioned about the episode. She even brought up the occasion in December when someone named “Courtney” shot and blew up McCoy’s phone.

According to specialist Hayes, McCoy said he felt undermined by Spraggins as she could attack his life, one in which he wanted to marry his life partner Abigail in April.

McCoy tested positive for gunshot accumulation. Agents also found the firearm used to commit the crime, and it was not his administration’s weapon. They found Spraggins’ protected phone inside a cupboard in McCoy’s attic at Weston Farm.

Hayes staged an instant message between McCoy and Spraggins. When the victim asked McCoy what she should do if he didn’t accept her, he replied: “A headshot sounds great to me.”

Madison Area Representative Chief Prosecutor Tim Gann said the district attorney’s office is seeking capital punishment against the defendant and would almost certainly document two additional capital punishment charges against him.
