Personal life and marriage to Chris Spielman

Carrie and Chris exchanged their vows in July 2013, after dating for a couple of years. They are parenting two girls from Carrie’s first marriage named Kendra and Gina, while Chris has three daughters and one son from his previous marriage as well – the whole family is currently living together in Upper Arlington, Columbus, Ohio. Judging by Chris’ Instagram account and Carrie’s Facebook account, the family seems to be leading a happy life.

Who is Chris Spielman?

Charles Christopher Spielman was born in Canton, Ohio on 11 October 1965 under the zodiac sign of Libra and holds American nationality – Chris is known for his career as a football player.

There is not much known about his life during the years before he matriculated from Washington High School located in Massillon, Ohio – Chris did so well that he won the Dial Award for being the national high school scholar athlete of 1983. He was planning to enroll at the University of Michigan, but his father had a different idea as he was a big fan of Ohio State Buckeyes, and so wanted his son to attend the Ohio State University. His enrollment at the university can be considered as the start of his football career.

During the time Chris spent with the Buckeyes, he was named two times an All-American, while he also won the Lombardi Award for being the best lineman in the college team. Adding to that, he became the most valuable player (MVP) during his finishing year, and also won the Chic Harley Award which is given by the Touchdown Club of Columbus. After graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in recreation education, he was drafted by the Detroit Lions, and started playing in the National Football League (NFL) in 1988.

He played for the Lions for eight seasons, and after captaining the Lion’s defense in 1991 during the NFC Championship Game, his defense was named one of the best in the entire NFL. There are many records which Chris set with the Lions which nobody has managed to break since he left the team, such as 1,020 tackles, 10 sacks, four receptions, and 17 fumble recoveries. Besides that, he became the team’s MPV in 1993 and 1994, when he was selected for the Pro Bowls.

In 1996, Chris became part of the Buffalo Bills, and during his first year recorded 206 tackles, both a personal and a team record. He wasn’t very lucky during the 1997 career as he suffered a neck injury, had to undergo surgery and skipped most of the season. At the time, he was already married to his first wife Stefanie, with whom he has four children named Madison, Noah, Macy, and Audrey – because Stefanie was battling cancer, Chris decided to skip the 1998 season to help his wife, who sadly lost her fight against cancer, having battled the disease five times before her death, as it kept recuring.

Chris went back to playing football in 1999 and joined the Cleveland Brown,s but chose to retire before the season even began because of an injury. His football career was replaced by a broadcasting career, which he started in the same year of his retirement – he was first working as an analyst for the Fox Sports Net, and after spending two years with them, he joined the ESPN team. He served as an analyst for numerous TV stations, and hosted the show called “Spielman on Sports” for a short period of time. He is currently working as a game analyst for Fox NFL.
