The 18-year-old was a passenger in a black Vauxhall Corsa which hit several parked cars in Middle Road, Sholing. Two other people were injured in the crash in the early hours of Sunday. Since then, people have paid their respects to the ‘kind, caring, and much-loved teen’ by laying flowers and cards at the scene.

Now, a GoFundMe page to help the grieving family pay for the young boy’s funeral costs has been set up, aiming to raise £1,500. Shana Green, organizer and Brandon’s auntie, wrote on the page: “I’m hoping to raise some funds in honor of my nephew, Brandon Cousens, to help cover some of the costs of his funeral.
“We all know how expensive funerals can be, and I’d love to be able to relieve some of the financial burdens for them. “As you can imagine, the whole family is in complete shock, and it is understandably a very difficult time for all of us, so anything you are able to give would be very much appreciated and would mean so much to all of us.
“I would just like to end this by saying, Brandon was such a gorgeous boy, full of life, with many family and friends who loved him so very much. He will remain in our hearts always.
“Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for anything, you may have donated.”
Shana also revealed that Brandon was the passenger the night of the crash. Two male teenagers, aged 17 and 19, and both from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They have been released on bail until Monday, June 5.
