Former Jackass star Bam Margera has apparently disappeared again, just days after he threatened to kill himself if he couldn’t see his son. In a tweet Sunday morning, Margera’s brother asked for the public’s help in finding the 43-year-old man who is believed to be back in Los Angeles after being spotted in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
“If anyone in the Los Angeles area knows of Bam’s current whereabouts or a hotel he might be staying at, please contact the LAPD immediately,” Jess Margera urged. She said, she was trying to get the police department to ping Bam’s phone, but noted, “I don’t think we’ll have that kind of time.”
Bam’s disappearance comes just days after he posted a tirade on social media, saying his family and his ex-wife were taking him out drinking. He then threatened to go down the boardwalk to smoke crack with homeless people until he dies or until he is allowed to see his son, Phoenix, from whom he has been estranged since March 29.
In Thursday’s Instagram post, Margera threatened to smoke crack until his ex-wife Nicole Boyd agreed to let him visit her son. “This is an official message to anyone who cares about me,” Margera said.

His wife’s attorney issued a statement about the Margera video, urging the TV stuntman to keep him sober. “Unfortunately, that’s not how addictions work. People’s behavior does not prompt others to drink. This is a typical defense mechanism, and it shows that Bam may not have learned much in previous addiction treatment from him,” attorney David Glass told TMZ.

In the documents, Boyd said Margera can see her son as long as he is supervised and completes drug and alcohol rehab.

But Margera has been trying to get the judge overseeing the divorce case to throw it out and, at the same time, trying to move up the next hearing, according to documents obtained by TMZ. Her lawyer told the outlet that Margera and Boyd had tried unsuccessfully to set up a routine in which she would talk to her son via FaceTime, but it never came to fruition.
He said they find it “completely unreasonable” for Boyd not to answer FaceTime or phone calls he’s made, as he poses no danger to the boy, TMZ reported. Margera is also said to be paying for Boyd’s house and car, and she remains willing to settle with Boyd and his lawyers for any level of communication.
But the last time Margera saw her son, she was caught on camera arguing with Boyd inside a Burbank, California restaurant about her time with the boy. The former Jackass star was seen arguing with Boyd in the clip, telling him: “Phoenix has her own mind.” Let him have her own mind!
And he was subsequently arrested in connection with public intoxication following the incident. In a statement, Boyd’s attorney, David Glass, cited Margera’s conduct as the reason for the son’s separation from her. “From Nikki’s perspective, Bam’s continued instability is what makes the connection between him and Phoenix difficult,” Glass said.
“But, Nikki remains open to regular FaceTime communication, as long as Bam isn’t affected during the calls, and as long as Bam doesn’t put Nikki down during the calls.”
Margera has battled addiction and has been in and out of rehab since 2009 and escaped from a court-ordered rehab center more than three times in the past year. Most recently, she fled the scene after she got into a fight with her brother outside their $1.1 million castle in Pocopson Township, sparking a manhunt in Pennsylvania.
She turned herself into authorities days later and was released on bail. As part of the release, the Delco Daily Times reports, she was ordered to have no contact with her family. Margera was also required to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow recommended treatments. The next scheduled hearing in Margera’s divorce case is set for July 11.
