In connection with the horrific Windsor Hills accident, a 40-year-old nurse was arrested and is currently being held on vehicular manslaughter charges.

The woman currently receiving medical care at the hospital has been recognized as the driver of the Mercedes-Benz that crashed while speeding down La Brea Avenue toward Slauson Avenue at an estimated speed of 80 to 100 mph.

She supports the California Highway Patrol investigation, according to two sources, and detectives are running her blood tests to see if she was under the influence. The Los Angeles County district attorney will indict her on Monday. As the coroner identifies the mother-to-be who died in the high-speed collision, the arrest is made.
