Other Recurring Roles and Film Work

In 2007, Bowlby was cast in another recurring role as Meg in “How I Met Your Mother”,  in four episodes over the course of the next few years, with the highly popular series receiving a lot of critical acclaim for its humor, and unique structure. She then got her first film role the following year in “All Roads Lead Home”, actually the last film Peter Boyle did prior to his passing. After appearing in several shows as a guest, she co-starred in the film entitled “The Slammin’ Salmon” with Michael Clarke Duncan.

Her next big role would come in the same year in the show entitled “Drop Dead Diva”, in which she played Stacy Barrett, appearing in 78 episodes. The Lifetime series stars Brooke Elliot as a plus-size lawyer who has the soul of a fashion model residing inside her body. In 2011, Bowlby then starred in the romantic comedy film “From Prada to Nada”, which is loosely based on the 1800s novel “Sense and Sensibility”. For her personal life, it is known that she was in a relationship with singer Josh Groban in 2009, but which only lasted for a few months.
