Anne Winters Wikipedia, Biography, Age, Family, Height, Net Worth, Fast Facts

Anne Winters has been one of the more recognizable faces in television and film in recent years. She rose to fame as a part of the Netflix show “13 Reasons Why,” in which she portrayed Chloe Rice. She’s also known for her work in the television series “Zac & Mia,” playing the titular Mia Phillips. She started her career in acting as a teenager and has managed to find consistent work, moving her career forward.

Early Life and Education

Anne Christine Winters was born on 3 June 1994, in Dallas, Texas, USA, so is now 29 years old. During her childhood years, her family resided in Lewisville, Texas, where she attended Prestonwood Christian Academy. She displayed a talent for performing at a young age, leading her to an uncommon opportunity – at 10 years old, she sang at the American Airlines Center in front of 24,000 people. After matriculating, she was contemplating a university education in Texas, but opted instead to pursue an interest in acting, so moved to Los Angeles and began looking for opportunities there.

Rise to Fame

Winters’ first project was the film “A Christmas Snow,” released straight to DVD. After a few more similar projects, she then made her first television appearance as a guest on the Disney Channel program “Liv and Maddie”, which led to her first recurring role in “The Fosters,” in which she portrayed Kelsey.

More prominent projects followed, as she became a regular cast member of the television show “Tyrant” during its third season, after appearing as a guest the season prior. The show tells the story of the son of a Middle Eastern tyrant who escaped to the US to live a normal life. However, circumstances led him to return home and navigate the dangers of politics in his homeland.

Anne’s next project was the independent film “Sand Castles,” working alongside Clint Howard and Jordon Hodges, playing a mute character in the film who suddenly reappears in the lives of her family after her kidnapping a decade ago; the film won a MIFF award.

After this project, more starring roles were offered to her, including a lead role in the film “Fatal Instinct.” Some of the other projects she worked on include “Pass the Light,” “The Bride He Bought Online,” and a pilot for “Cruel Intentions,” based on the original film starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, but the pilot was not picked up. She also became a cast member of the television series “Wicked City,” which only aired for three episodes before being cancelled.

Zac & Mia

In 2017, Anne Winters was cast as the lead of the Go90 television show “Zac & Mia”,  based on the novel of the same name written by AJ Betts. It tells the story of the two titular characters, cancer patients who meet during treatment and become friends. The author based the book on her experiences working in a children’s hospital, treating cancer patients. However, critics state that the book drew a lot of similarities to the novel and film “The Fault in Our Stars,” which had a similar story to tell. Despite that, her performance drew the attention of audiences, and earned praise from critics, leading her to win a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series.

“13 Reasons Why” and other recent projects

Following her work in “Zac & Mia,” Anne Winters was cast in the second season of the Netflix television show “13 Reasons Why”, in which she portrayed the role of the new head cheerleader, Chloe Rice, at Liberty High. It was a recurring role, and the fame around “13 Reasons Why” helped propel her career further. The show is based on the Jay Asher novel of the same name, and follows the story of a student who leaves behind a series of cassette tapes detailing her suicide. The show was highly successful after the release of its first season, mainly due to its ability to tackle mature themes and topics that surround the younger generation. However, it was also controversial because of the graphic depictions of issues such as suicide and rape, which led to Netflix adjusting its opening presentation to include warnings.

The second season of “13 Reasons Why” was highly anticipated, but was met with a lot of negative reviews. One of the reasons for the negativity was because the showrunners decided to deviate from the source content, creating new characters that weren’t as impactful compared to the originals. Many book readers also noted that the show should have ended during the first season, but they instead tried to milk its popularity. The show ran for two more seasons before its cancellation.

Anne was next cast in the television series “Grand Hotel,” which follows the lives of the characters in the titular hotel in Miami Beach. In 2022, she became a new regular cast member of the show “The Orville,” portraying Charly Burke; the show has been noted as a tribute and parody to the “Star Trek” franchise.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding her work in “The Orville” after the end of its third season. There has been no confirmation of the show’s continuation, which is heavily dependent on Seth MacFarlane and Disney. It’s likely that a fourth season will be created, but there has been no timeframe given, especially with the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike delaying many film and television projects.

Personal Life

Anne Winters has a height of 5ft 3in (1.6m). There have been two notable romantic partners in her life; the first was singer Taylor Beau, who’s best known for songs such as “Ride My Vibe” and “Faded” – the two were in a relationship from 2018 to 2020. Currently, she is in a relationship with actor Seth MacFarlane, whom she met on the set of “The Orville”; the two have been together since late 2020. Seth is best known for his work in animated television, being the creator of shows such as “Family Guy” and “American Dad!” He’s also the creator and voice of the character “Ted”, and was the star of the film “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” which he also wrote and directed.

Anne likes to keep most of her personal life out of the spotlight. She does have several social media accounts, which detail some of her curated works. Her posts indicate that she’s recently been doing modeling work, while also appearing in several events for luxury fashion brands. She’s also been heavily promoting her work in “The Orville” since joining the cast.
