She now faces extradition to Germany.

In a statement distributed in February 2022 that Anna composed from the ICE office, she claimed to be subject to an out of place rule and that she was not the “risk to society” that she was being portrayed. The visa stay, as she put it, was “inadvertent and largely out of my control.” Having been in and out of conservatorship since around 2017, Anna said going through seven offices for “a single case” was like being stuck in a circle.
