Andrew Snyder Wiki, Biography
A horrendous house fire broke out on Monday, April 3, at a home in Indiana. The family trapped inside numbered six people, including a young child. Fortunately, they were well protected from the burning house. According to the specialists, around 02:00 this Monday they received an emergency call detailing the fire.
After arriving on the scene, Indiana Officer Sgt. Andrew Snyder quickly used a stool to protect the boy. Other family members who were trapped inside also left the house using a stool. Police have now released body camera film that captured Sgt. Snyder climbing on a stool to climb out of the home’s window to save the boy.
The boy hurried to be saved from the house, followed by the rest of the family. Frankfort officials received an emergency call shortly after 2 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023 about a house on fire. The Clinton District Focal Office received a call and was told that a house was “filled with heavy smoke” in the 800 block of Hawthorne Road.
“The guest revealed that they were on the next floor and couldn’t get out. The guest further revealed that a boy was available and was having a hard time relaxing. Dispatchers gave life safety measures when police and firefighters were dispatched.”
The rendition further stated that authorities, including officers from the Frankfort Police Division, Indiana Officer Sgt. Andrew Snyder, Officer Madison Douglass and Officer Freddy Martinez arrived at the scene shortly after the distress call.
Snyder ran to get a stool and climb through the window of the house to protect the boy first. He allegedly asked the family members trapped inside:
“Could I ever have your child? Could I ever have your child? Give me the car seat, she benefits.”
The distraught family said: The brave Indiana official comforted them and got the boy. He snatched the car seat from her as they put it on the window pane. He was then heard to say:
Specialists also handed over body camera film capturing the rescue. Officer Snyder was then also heard helping the family out of the living room using a stool.
Official Madison Douglass body camera film also captured the rescue mission. The officer was heard to say: In a release distributed by the Frankfort Police Division, Chief Scott Shoemaker said:
“I am very happy for these officials for their quick and chivalrous activities. They will be considered by the police division at some point in the not too distant future.”
Family members have offered their thanks to the experts for safeguarding the entire family. A relative named Samantha Stevens took to Facebook and said:
“My sister’s condo caught fire the night before. Very grateful to you, God, everyone was saved. Thank you so much, Frankfort Police Division, for being there first. Many thanks to you, Officer Douglass and various officers. I am so grateful to you for being there for my sister, Braxon, and the family above…”
“They have another child who was delivered on a stool. Officer Douglass and her accomplice took people out and her new child… Also, my sister and my nephew. I really want to believe that they gain appreciation for their bravery. To get everyone out. We have a superb city of amazing cops from the past. Also, thank you local Frankfort fire group.” Stevens also thanked officials for getting the boy out safely without getting hurt. The local Frankfort fire group is currently investigating the specific reason for the Indiana house fire.
“I decided to prescribe the Medal of Bravery to each of the three officers. All showed an unprecedented display of courage in removing a sum of six (6) inhabitants to a safe and secure location under intense pressure and dangerous circumstances.”
The Decoration of Dauntless is awarded to officers who display expectant mental strength to protect others from harm, regardless of whether it undermines their own well-being.
