Andrea Evans, a popular soap opera star, has died at the age of 66 after a battle with breast cancer. The actress gained popularity for playing the vixen Tina Lord on ABC’s One Life to Live. She was also famous for leaving the show because her role attracted a stalker.
Andrea is survived by her husband Steve Rodriguez and a daughter. Her husband, Stephen Rodríguez, is a lawyer. She married him in 1998. In 2004, Evans and Rodriguez adopted a daughter named Kylie, who turned 18 last year.
The late actress marked the milestone with her daughter getting matching tattoos, writing on Instagram at the time: ‘Me and KAi got matching tattoos for hers 18th birthday! If you look closely, mine has a k, hers has an a. I love my girl very much.
At this time, not much is known about her age, her educational background, or other aspects of Steve Rodriguez’s personal life. However, it is known that Rodriguez is a lawyer based in Los Angeles.
Evans played Tina Lord in the serial opera Tina Lord from 1979 to 1981 and again from 1985 to 1990. PEOPLE magazine dubbed Evans’ portrayal of Tina Lord “The Dirt Diva of the Day.”
She played the role of Patty Williams on The Young and the Restless from 1983 to 1984 in between appearances on the long-running show. She received a Daytime Emmy nomination three years after returning to One Life to Live.
Evans abruptly left the show and her run after earning the nomination in 1987 after being approached by a stalker in the lobby of the soap opera studio in Manhattan.
