She was later shown in a group called “The BBG’s” with Grace Kinstler singing “Grenade” by Bruno Mars. During the Showstoppers Round, she sang “I’m Here” from The Color Purple. At the Final Judgment, the judges told her that she did enough to become a Top 24 semifinalist.

Top 24: Alyssa sang “Something in the Water” by Carrie Underwood and “I’m Your Baby Tonight” by Whitney Houston in a duet with Katharine McPhee. She received enough votes to be considered “safe”.

Top 12: “American Idol” returned Sunday, April 18, with the top 12 contestants, which included Northern Kentucky student Alyssa Wray. Alyssa sang “This Is Me” by Keala Settle (from The Greatest Showman). She received enough votes to be considered “safe” for another week.

On Monday, April 19th, she will sing for the chance to be voted into this season’s competition, rounding out the top 10.
