Alex Neil has given it to Sunderland to become Stoke’s new boss in the individual championship. The former Norwich and Preston boss appeared at the Stadium of Light in February, helping the Black Cats achieve a return to the second tier with play-off progress around the end of last season.

“It has now resolved a change in the bet365 stadium and the collaboration to assign another main mentor is in process.” Stoke Joint Leader John Coates said: “Alex was our top choice to become our new boss and I’m happy we got his organizations so quickly.
“His normative family is amazing with three progressions currently on his resume and we look forward to working with him personally to help him understand the aspirations he and the club share.”
Neil trades a 17th-place Sunderland side in the Championship for 17th-place Stoke and hopes to drag the Potters back to the Premier League, having been absent from England’s top of the line starting in 2018.
