Alberto Rolon and Zoraida Bartolomei Wiki- Alberto Rolon and Zoraida Bartolomei Biography
The bodies of father Alberto Rolon, mother Zoraida Bartolomei and their two children were found around 8:40 p.m. by Romeoville police after officers stopped by his home to conduct a welfare check. The names and ages of the children were not released Monday. Three dogs were also found shot to death inside the home. Romeoville Deputy Police Chief Chris Burne said during a news conference Monday that police do not believe the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. “Right now we are investigating this as a murder,” he said during the news conference broadcast on NBC Chicago. He also did not believe the surrounding community was at risk, although no arrests have been reported. “Due to the time elapsed (more than 18 hours from the time we were contacted), we are not asking anyone to shelter in place, we are not actively searching for anyone in the area,” he said. It is unclear whether the parents were married, Burne said. The two children were students at RC Hill Elementary School, Valley View School District Superintendent Rachel Kinder said in a note to the community.
Alberto Rolon and Zoraida Bartolomei age is not mentioned.
Cause of Death
Concerned relatives called police after one of the victims failed to show up for work at 6 a.m. Sunday and she did not respond to messages, police said. Authorities believe the family of four was killed between 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 5 a.m. “I’m devastated,” neighbor Lynn Phillips, who lives a house away, told the Chicago Sun Times. “I’ve been crying on and off all day.” Neighbors told media outlets that the family were nice people who did not visit the neighborhood often. “They kept to themselves,” a neighbor told ABC 7 Chicago. “I really do not know. I never saw the kids outside playing and I have a son. I don’t really know what happened and it’s very scary. “Too close to home.” “They were a mother, a father and a couple of children. The parents were outside working in the garden and we were saying hello and goodbye, that sort of thing,” Phillips told the Sun Times. “Nothing unusual. We all kept to ourselves.” Neighbor Carol Love told the newspaper that the family made an effort to be good neighbors. “It’s so sad. They were good people. They didn’t bother anyone,” Love allegedly said. “I hope they find out who did it.” Romeoville is about 30 miles southwest of Chicago.
