Bliss and his better half, John Hummel, lived in his family’s home in Kennedale, Texas, along with their five-year-old daughter Jodi and Joy’s father, Clyde Bedford. An arrest warrant was then issued for John, and a couple of days after the fact, he was caught trying to move to Mexico from California. When police began questioning John, he admitted to each of the three homicides and claimed that he had no idea what happened to him. He expressed that he was thinking of leaving her better half when Joy intruded on him making him violently angry and cut her off absurdly. Then, at that point, he hit Jodi and Clyde with a stick before setting the house on fire. Consequently, with a full admission in his hands, the police finally charged John with manslaughter.
