He lived his childhood in Queens, New York. On July 24, 2001, Cormega delivered his introductory studio collection The Realness and AllMusic’s Matt Conaway expressed that the collection paints Cormega as “one of the most encouraging hooligan artists to come along in some time”.

The collection, The Realness, included tunes like American Beauty, Get Out My Way, RU My Nigga?, Rap’s a Hustle, They Forced My Hand (ft. Misfortune Khadafi), Fallen Soldiers, The Saga and Glory Days and topped #4 on the US Independent Albums Scheme (Billboard), at No. #24 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart.

Cormega’s second studio collection, called The True Meaning, was delivered on June 25, 2002 and was ranked #5 on the US Independent Albums chart (Billboard), ranked #5 on the US Independent Albums chart. at No. 95 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

The collection also won Source magazine’s “Underground Album of the Year” award.

His fifth studio collection, Mega Philosophy, was delivered on July 22, 2014 and features guest appearances from Styles P, Black Rob, Maya Azucena, Redman, Raekwon, and others.

It peaked at number 30 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart (Billboard). On December 26, 2018, he delivered his first Mega EP.

A part of Cormega’s beloved companions were rappers Nas, Havoc and Capone.
