AZ is an American rapper and lyricist who has been a long-lasting companion and successive music partner of East Coast rapper Nas. Close by Nas, Foxy Brown, and Cormega, he has been the one-fourth of the hip bounce supergroup The Firm.

As an independent craftsman, he has delivered a few collections and tracks like Doe or Die, 9 Lives, Undeniable, Doe or Die II, The Format, Pieces of a Man, A.W.O.L., Legendary, Aziatic, The Come Up, Problems, Take It Off, Save Them (ft. He was brought up in East New York, Brooklyn. Whenever he was 12 years of age, AZ started composing rap verses. He become friends with rapper Nas in the mid 1990s.

On October 10, 1995, AZ delivered his first studio collection Doe or Die and it crested at #1 on the US Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums diagram and at #15 on the US Billboard 200 outline.

With The Firm, he delivered the gathering’s introduction studio collection named The Album on October 21, 1997, through Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records.
