James Arness was born on May 26, 1923 as James King Aurness. He entered this world in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America. He played Peter Holstrom, the brother of Loretta Young (Katie Holstrom), in “The Farmer’s Daughter.”

Regardless of his relationship with westerns, Arness appeared in two science fiction films, “The Thing from Another World” and “Them!” He was a beloved companion of entertainer John Wayne. He has co-starred in movies like Big Jim McLain, The Sea Chase, Island in the Sky, and Hondo Near Him. Then at that time, he appeared as Matt Dillon on the long-running television series Gunsmoke.
