A 44-year-old man died of a heart attack while allegedly trying to dispose of the body of his girlfriend after killing her, according to authorities.
On June 10, deputies with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle in the roadway. When they arrived, they found the bodies of Daniel Robbins and his girlfriend, 47-year-old Jessica Folds. Following their autopsies, WTVM reports investigators believe Robbins died of a heart attack while trying to dispose of Folds, who died from strangulation, according to AL.com.
Investigators believe Folds was killed elsewhere and brought to the site to be disposed of, according to WTVM. She was found with her hands raised above her head, while Robbins’ body was in the fetal position. Law & Crime reports there were drag marks leading from the truck to the location of the bodies.
According to WTVM, Robbins’ ex-wife said he had a heart condition. He lived out of state and Folds lived a few miles from the site where the bodies were discovered. Law & Crime reports that an obituary was published for Robbins after his body was discovered but has since been taken down; it reportedly described him as a “country boy.”
Folds’ obituary describes her as a mother of three who “touched the lives of many with her heart of gold, deep love for everyone, and smile that brightened the world.”
The investigation is ongoing.
