Brendan Hines , born December 28, 1976 in Baltimore, Maryland, is an American actor, producer and singer-songwriter.

Childhood

His mother was a former nun and his father a former priest who became philosophy professors. Brendan was passionate about music at the age of 11, and began playing the trombone, which he switched to guitar at the age of 18.

Brendan attended Loyola High School, where he played in the jazz ensemble and appeared in several school plays, including “Sweeney Todd” and Molière’s “The Miser.”

Career

Brendan Hines moved to New York to continue his theater studies. He was one of the original members of the Bakerloo Theatre Project, where he played Orsino in the play “Twelfth Night” in 2003. He subsequently appeared in several films such as Ordinary Sinner (2001), True Dreams (2002) and You, Me… and My Dog (2007), as well as in several television series such as Angel (2004), Love, Inc. (2005), Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and in the recurring role of Tyler Ford in the series The Middleman in 2008. But, he is best known for his role as Eli Locker, which he played from 2009 to 2011, in the series Lie to Me , which was canceled due to lack of ratings after three seasons.

Beyond his audiovisual career, Brendan writes songs that he performs with his band: The Brendan Hines . In 2007, he released a ten-track album, titled Good For You Know Who . He released the second album on September 11, 2012, titled Small Mistakes . On October 13, 2017, he released a third album called Qualms .

Since then, he has had several guest-starring roles in the series Castle (2011), Covert Affairs (2012) and Beauty and the Beast (2013). In 2012, he joined the cast of the first season of Scandal to play Gideon Wallace, a journalist who takes a close interest in the scandal affecting President Grant, played by Tony Goldwyn. The following year, he played the role of Aiden in the first season of the Dutch series Betrayal .

After having played three supporting roles in the series Scorpion from 2014 to 2015, Suits from 2014 to 2018 and Secrets and Lies in 2016, the actor recently played one of the main roles in the series The Tick (2017-2019), before joining the recurring cast of the third season of MacGyver (2016) , in the role of Ethan Reigns.
