Aden Young , born November 30, 1971 in Canada, is a Canadian-Australian actor.

Childhood

He was born in Ontario, Canada. His father, Chip Young, is an American born in Missouri known for his work with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and is a children’s book author. His mother is a nurse from Newcastle, Australia. His family moved to Australia from Toronto in 1981. As a teenager, Aden attended Galston High and the Australian Theatre for Young People.

Career

For his first role, he played a young Frenchman in Bruce Beresford’s film Robe Noire , whose name was Daniel. At this time, Young was dubbed the new Marlon Brando in France, while in Hollywood, he would be Mel Gibson. He played the lead role in Laurie McInnes’ Australian film Broken Highway , which screened in competition at the Cannes Film Festival but received mixed reviews. Young was nominated for the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actor and won the Film Critic Circle of Australia Award for the film Metal Skin (1994).

As for series, he is known for his role as Daniel Holden in Rectify but also for The Starter Wife . In 2019 and 2020, he played Mike Serrato, one of the main characters in the mini-series Reckoning .

Aden has two sons, Dutch, born in 2007, and Chester, born in 2011, with his longtime partner Loene Carmen. They married in Zebulon, Georgia, in 2014.
