Chris Stewart finally gets to fulfill his lifelong ambition of being the Alabama Crimson Tide’s voice. On February 21, 2024, the Crimson Tide Sports Network introduced Stewart as Alabama football’s new voice. Stewart will succeed long-time football radio announcer Eli Gold, who has held the role since 1988. After his departure, Jim Carabin, vice president of Crimson Tide, commented,

“Eli has been an extremely useful element of our broadcast crew. We appreciate his years of work and wish him the best in the next chapter.”

Stewart will formally take over during the Golden Flake A-Day Spring Football Game on April 13.

When asked about his new job, he said,

“To be honest, I want to perform an excellent job and uphold the standards established in this position. I share the fans’ enthusiasm for the show. I respect it because I love it and will handle it with the dignity that this work deserves.”
