Dawn and Osaro Ighodaro, Oso Ighodaro’s parents, have remained out of the public eye. The pair has not given any interviews to the media. Both Osaro Ighodaro and his wife, Dawn Ighodaro, are teachers. Osaro Ighodaro, Oso’s father, got bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northern Arizona University in 1990 and 1992, respectively. Osaro also played college basketball at NAU and then professionally in Belgium. Later, Osaro pursued his studies and received his PhD in Political Science from NAU.

After concluding that basketball was not for him, Osaro became the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Scottsdale Community College. He worked at Scottsdale for two years before taking the same job at Glendale Community College. Osaro was appointed Vice President of Student Affairs at South Mountain Community College in 2012. He worked there for 11 years and just quit in June of this year. Dawn Ighodaro, Oso’s mother, earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Health and Physical Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Dawn worked as a Director of Admissions and Marketing and then as an After School Administrator at Summit School of Ahwatukee until 2021. Dawn worked at Summit School of Ahwatukee for 23 years and also worked as an Education Specialist in and around Phoenix during that period.

Dawn now works at three different places, filling diverse responsibilities. She works as an Operations Consultant at Carlo Rockmore LLC, a Development Assistant at Espanola Humane, and a Podcast Coordinator at House of Shine. Dawn, unlike her husband, is active on social media but seldom publishes things on her Facebook page. Her most recent post shows Oso hoisting the Big East Championship trophy, which the team won in March.

Oso Ighodaro is not his parents’ only kid; he has an elder sister named Osaso Ighodaro. Unlike his brother, Osaso was not affected by her father’s success as a basketball player and pursued a different path. Osaso earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. Osaso graduated with honors in 2021 and also obtained a B.S. in finance and economics.

Osaso was an honors student at Eller, a member of Pi Beta Phi, and a member of the Investments Club. Osaso was also stated to be pursuing a minor in Spanish and a degree in Sports Marketing or Global Business in a Facebook post published by Eller in 2018. Osaso performed two jobs at Eller, as a front desk assistant for the Dean’s Office in the College of Humanities and as a Campus Manager for University Tees. Following graduation, Osaso worked at Morgan Stanley in the Global Industrials Group as an investment banking analyst. She is presently employed with AEA Investors, a middle-market private equity company based in the United States.
